Expanding of the address range in Open Peering TPIX

We extend the address class used in Open Peering from 512 to 1024 addresses – from /23 to /22.

Please change the address mask on the interface towards TPIX.

There are over 400 active peers in TPIX OpenPeering, and there are almost 500 total BGP sessions configured! To connect additional participants to TPIX, we extend the address class used in Open Peering from 512 to 1024 addresses – from /23 to /22.

Now we use the 195.149.232.0/22 class for TPIX Open Peering peers.

Therefore, please change the address mask on the interface towards TPIX:

  • Current peer address: 195.149.23x.xxx /23 (maska 255.255.254.0)
  • Address after change: 195.149.23x.xxx /22 (maska 255.255.252.0)

After the change, you can check the connectivity to the address 195.149.235.254, e.g
ping 195.149.235.254

After confirmation, the prefix will appear in the routing table:
194.6.245.0/24 via 195.149.235.253 [AS33900]

Please confirm the change by e-mail.

When changing the mask, the BGP session may be interrupted (depending on the router).

Participants who do not change address mask:

  • they will not receive prefixes advertised by new participants (with addresses 195.149.234.1 – 195.149.235.253),
  • their prefixes will not be broadcast to new participants.
